Background
Nona's love for adventure and travel began at the age of five when her family sailed into New York harbor on a ship coming from South Hampton, England. Graduating from Rollins College in Central Florida with a degree in Foreign Languages/Political Science, Nona was well on her way to starting her own travel business.
How Nona got started
To become fluent in Spanish, Nona entered an exchange student program during college, living in Colombia, South America. There she further discovered her enthusiasm for foreign cultures and traditions. That still holds true today. Over the last 30 years Nona has traveled to every continent and taken groups along with her. Tours by Nona is a family owned and operated company that encompasses her years of experience in the industry as well as her passion for sharing the opportunity for others to see the world.

We’ll begin our adventure as we are transferred to the Amtrak Train Station in Winter Park. Upon arrival our motor coach will be waiting to take us to our accommodations in the heart of the Historic District. After breakfast the next morning we’ll enjoy a narrated trolley tour of this fascinating city. We’ll see where “FORREST GUMP” was filmed, and “Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil” took place. In the evening we’ll delight in a holiday performance at the renowned Savannah Theatre. This unique and grand event takes place at their 365-acre Balloon Fiesta Park with 600 hot air balloons, making it the largest ballooning event on earth, the most photographed event on earth and the largest annual international event held in the U.S! We’ll enjoy a mass ascension in which all the balloons are launched in two waves – a most spectacular display of sound and color, and balloon glows where pilots inflate the balloons at night and being lit from within appear as giant holiday ornaments. There are special shapes balloons, fireworks and tons of fun. This beautiful and magical moving picture show of hot air balloons sailing through the blue skies is a must-see event!
